"I tell you truthfully that all my questions have been answered, not through man but through God.  He is.  He is.  It is His spirit that talks to you through me.  It is His love that I speak of."

Paramahansa Yogananda
("The Purpose of Life" quotes, as featured on the SRF website)

The central theme this month is celebrating the birth of Paramahansa Yogananda, the founder of Self-Realization Fellowship/Yogoda Satsanga Society of India (SRF/YSS) and guru to his disciples with three special events: a commemorative service, 6-hour meditation, and a social birthday party.
Among other activities, please attend our quarterly General Membership Meeting.  We will also have a Harmonium Workshop for beginners.  This class is for those who either have minimal experience playing the harmonium, or know how to read music, but no experience playing the harmonium.
See below for more details concerning all of our events.
As we celebrate the birth of our beloved Gurudeva, let us remember his beautiful words about the role of a guru in one's spiritual journey:
"The guru is the awakened God, awakening the sleeping God in the disciple. Through sympathy and deep vision, a true guru sees the Lord suffering in the physically, mentally, and spiritually poor, and that is why he feels it his joyous duty to assist them. He tries to feed the hungry God in the destitute, to stir the sleeping God in the ignorant, to love the unconscious God in the enemy, and to waken the half asleep God in the yearning devotee. And by a gentle touch of love, he instantaneously arouses the almost fully awakened God in the advanced seeker. The guru is, among all men, the best of givers. Like the Lord Himself, his generosity knows no boundaries."
Wishing you a Joyous New Year - Jai Guru!
